Good morning friends. First of all I want to say welcome to all the new followers. I am so pleased to have you here and hope you are all having a good week. Today I have a guest post by Arcadian Lighting. So let me hand you right over to Jenn...
Hi everyone! My name is Jenn and I write for Arcadian Lighting, a website and blog that follows top lighting trends and light fixture designers from around the world. Since that I work from home I count on the "virtual world" to inspire and keep me grounded - and it's websites like Tassels & Twigs that not only make my job a lot of fun but also gives me so many fantastic ideas (professionally and in my own home). I can't thank owner Veronica enough for letting me write a guest post today on art deco inspired rooms - thank you!

Few decor movements are as bold and vibrant as art deco inspired rooms. This style, which began in Paris in the 1920s, also has proven staying power. Symmetry, balance, and colour, not to mention a dash of elegance, are all characteristics of this still popular design. Eclectic pieces of furniture and unique light fixtures come together in stylish harmony, like in these eight incredible spaces.
Graphic prints are found in most art deco inspired rooms, and this black and white carpet sets the perfect tone in this artsy, yet airy sitting space.
The grey textures seen here in both the headboard and wallpaper mesh beautifully with the other natural tones of the space, while the bauble ceiling light amps up the sophisticated personality of this bedroom.
Purple and blue and even a tad of lime green create ambiance and warmth in this home office. The Kishani Perera floral papers are especially striking.
The repeating geometric motifs of this art deco inspired room helps the space feel balanced and therefore doesn't allow the pattern to become too overwhelming.
From the high-lacquered dining room table to the crystal ceiling light and sheer window treatments, this dining room melds modern metallic and retro art deco elements.
Sometimes what appears to be the smallest of details is really the main thing that ends up defining a space - in this living room it's the punches of orange in frames on the walls that adds character to the monochromatic space.
A more vintage approach to art deco inspired rooms, this kitchen vignette is outfitted in vibrant colours, eclectic finds, and lots of organic rawness like different woods. With the huge windows, no obtrusive light fixture is needed. The ornate designs on the charger plates add just the right amount of interesting detail and colour.
Complementary colours like black and white scream art deco chic, and the bits of mustard yellow in the towels and fresh blooms breaks up the monotony of this utilitarian space.

I've learned 2 new things because of you today...1st, the word "floofy," and now I know more about art deco. I never would have considered my style to be anything close to art deco, but I love parts of all of those rooms...esp the kitchen. Thanks!
